Prevention of Powder Adherence Inside Stainless Steel Centrifugal Dehydrators|Premium Fine Peening (PFP)
At a petrochemical plant, PFP treatment was applied at the factory to prevent powder adherence (bridging and blockage) inside the stainless steel (SUS) centrifugal dehydrators.

Customer's Challenge
The customer had been operating the degassing unit with Teflon sheets attached. However, due to wear from long-term operation, there was an issue of Teflon contamination.
The powder in question contained moisture, and while alternative surface coatings were considered, similar contamination concerns remained, leaving the customer uncertain about a viable solution.
Kanmeta Engineering's Proposal
PFP treatment was chosen for the following advantages:
Pre-Testing: We conducted pre-release tests replicating actual conditions (free of charge), allowing us to propose an optimal solution for powder containing moisture.
No Coating Required: As no coatings are used, the risk of contamination is completely eliminated.
Cost-Effective Installation: The removable structure enabled economical factory-based treatment.
Textured Surface: The uneven surface design reduced the contact area for powder, minimizing build-up.
Results
✔After PFP treatment, powder adherence (bridging and blockage) inside the dehydrator was reduced by 70–80%.
✔With less adherence, cleaning times were shortened, significantly reducing factory operating costs.
✔The elimination of contamination during operation contributed to improved product quality.
